An elderly woman was attacked as she carried a takeaway meal home.
The 67-year-old suffered head injuries in the attack in Clayton, just before noon yesterday.
She had been to a fish and chip shop just before she was hit from behind outside an off-licence on Bradford Road. A man wrestled her to the floor and tried to grab her bag but he then ran off empty-handed. The woman was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary for injuries, which are not life-threatening.
The attacker is white aged 16 to 18, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins, slim and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark green woolly hat and blue jeans.
