Gateshead 1, Guiseley 5: Guiseley had to come from a goal down but ran out easy winners as the problems mount for the Tynesiders, who were knocked out of the FA Cup at minnows Liversedge on Saturday.

The fall from grace of one-time Football League outfit Gateshead has been alarming and they mustered no resistance to Guiseley, despite Richard Kent giving them a second-minute lead.

The Yorkshiremen were on terms by the 11th minute. A well-worked move involving Andy Shuttleworth and Dave Henry unlocked the home defence and Scott Jackson equalised with a left-foot chip over the keeper. Shuttle-worth broke down the left flank midway through the first half and found Jackson, who provided the cross for Henry to put the visitors in front with a shot at the far post.

Three minutes before half-time Richard Chattoe released Henry again and he cut into the area before driving in a right-footer.

He stepped up to complete his hat-trick a minute into the second period, slotting in from the penalty spot after he had been fouled.

The contest was over before the hour mark and Henry was once more involved. His cross from the right flank picked out Shuttleworth on the edge of the six-yard box and he stabbed the ball home to give Guiseley a nap hand.
