Andy Hayward will be back to lead the line alongside Jason Maxwell tomorrow as Bradford Park Avenue look for their first home win of the season but they will face a tough task as Barrow are the visitors.
Hayward missed Wednesday's home defeat to Worksop Town through work commitments and Avenue lacked a cutting edge. Maxwell soldiered on up front with Richard Tracey in the first half and Steve Oleksewycz after the break following a re-shuffle.
The system had to be changed after skipper Wayne Benn injured a knee in the closing seconds of the first period. The captain will not be risked tomorrow but big centre back James Stansfield is back in contention.
"Obviously having Andy back will be a big boost for us," said Bradford boss Trevor Storton.
"We missed his presence in the opposition's area in midweek and he and Jason have a great understanding after so many games together.
"We always look like scoring when the two of them are in the side.
"Stanny had a bit of a hamstring problem but he should be all right for the Barrow game. Ryan Crossley will be in the squad. He is not fully fit but is improving bit by bit and could do a job if needed."
Storton is hoping none of his other players report back with any knocks from the Worksop game. Benn was the only man to pick up a serious-looking injury but several others have been through the pain barrier for the good of the team in recent weeks.
"I have not been contacted by any to say they are doubtful for tomorrow, which is what we ask of them when we have played on Wednesdays and they have Thursday off, so it is looking promising.
"If we are to get anything against Barrow we need the lads firing on all cylinders. There will be no hiding places on the pitch so we have be sure they are 100 per cent before we send them out.
"This is a big game, Barrow are always one of the favourites in this division. They have good support and attract big players because of a large budget. It should be a good atmosphere because they always bring a following with them.
"These are the games you should look forward to as a manager but it is always a bit disappointing when you have players out. I can't wait for the day when I have got my full squad to pick from because I think on our day we can beat any side in the non-league."
