Bulls Academy 36, Warrington Academy 20: Bradford Bulls made it to the Grand Final at the second attempt when they defeated Warrington Wolves 36-20 in the Elimination Semi-final at Odsal last night.
The highlight was a hat-trick of tries by Karl Pryce, who proved unstoppable at left
centre.
He was ably supported by Chris Bridge, who kicked six goals and had a busy night.
The Bulls toughed it out against the big Warrington pack, and their display was a far cry from the one they had produced the previous week when they lost 27-14 to Wigan.
Despite early Bulls pressure Warrington opened the scoring before Ben Weston pulled a try back for the home side and it was 20 minutes before the Bulls scored again when Paul Clarke went in after a scintillating run from 70 metres.
Karl Pryce then scored two tries in quick succession and a further try to Victor Tordoff put the Bulls 30-4 ahead.
Warrington, aided by some strange refereeing decisions, staged a rally, scoring three late tries, but Pryce's third score and a Bridge penalty on the stroke of time after Tom Andrews had been stiff-armed - a foul for which the Warrington player was dismissed - saw the Bulls home.
They now meet Wigan at Odsal in next week's Grand Final.
It was an emotional night at when passions were clearly running high, and the Bulls players dedicated the victory to their coach Phil Veivers, who was forced to depart back home to Australia last weekend following the death of his father.
l The 4 Para Freefall Parachute Display Team will perform at Odsal prior to the 'Biggest Game of All' when Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos clash on Sunday.
The display will be performed by the Thornbury Barracks-based team, who have a long and illustrious list of previous display venues including sites in the USA, Germany and at the Sky Diving World Championships in Slovenia, plus a personal display for HRH Prince Charles.
The on-field pre-match entertainment package will be headlined by the Dirty Dancing stage show, and the parachute display will be the crescendo of the Bulls Experience at 6.25pm before the teams take to the field for the 6.35pm kick-off.
Other entertainment includes the Yorkshire Building Society Concert Brass Band, bouncy castles, face painters, the Bulls Roadshow and Bulli-oke
contest, the Pulse Roadshow and the opportunity for supporters to have their picture taken with the Powergen Challenge Cup by the official Bulls photographer.
The entertainment begins at 4pm when the gates open, and Bradford Bulls take on Castleford Tigers in the Junior Academy Elimination Semi-Final at 4.10pm.
