A plan to double the size of Bradford's only city centre casino is being considered by hotel chiefs. If it is approved, the Norfolk Gardens Hotel's popular Grampian Bar may be closed. The four-star hotel's owners, the Reo Stakis Organisation, are anxious to cash in on the success of the casino - one of the biggest money-spinners in the group.

Suprised that "Delius is forgotten" in his native city of Bradford, Mr Sam Weller, of Eldwick, suggested that a bust of the composer should be placed at the Hall Ings entrance to St. George's Hall, but the Bradford Town Hall sub-committee has turned down his suggestion. Mr Weller's proposal was first made in the Telegraph & Argus correspondence column. Later he wrote to the sub-committee.
