A young hairdresser has proved to be truly a cut above the rest after being asked to take over as manager of a new salon.
Vicky Barton, 18, has been working as a trainee at DB Hair in Wibsey since leaving school two-and-a-half years ago and also attended Christopher and Paul Hairdressing College in Bradford.
Now the Wibsey youngster has qualified as the highest achiever of the year at the college and is ready to make the big step up.
Denise Harland, owner of DB Hair, said Vicky would take over as manager of her new store which is to open in Wibsey High Street later this year.
"She is hard-working and very eager to learn and has already looked after this salon while I have been on holiday," said Mrs Harland, who also paid tribute to the training received at Christopher and Paul's. "Vicky has got a big client base already and I am sure she has a bright future."
Caroline Fletcher, trainer and assessor at Christopher and Paul's, described Vicky as "a real star".
"She has worked really hard and got everything done very quickly and I am sure she will be very successful," she said. Vicky and Denise are pictured outside the salon celebrating her appointment.
