Football fans across Bradford are preparing to turn up for work in their favourite team's kits to raise money for homeless charity Shelter.

Workers will also give 90 minutes of their salaries to the charity during the Strip 4 Shelter campaign on September 19.

"Four households in Yorkshire and Humberside become homeless every 90 minutes," said a Shelter spokesman.

"By taking part in the event people can change lives and help families that are homeless or living in poor housing."

Staff at the Bradford & Bingley are already looking forward to ditching their uniforms for the day.

Branch manager Andrew Binns at the firm's Darley Street office said: "All the staff at this branch will be wearing their football strips on the day. It is great to get involved and raise money for a worthwhile cause."

Workers at Bradford City Football Club will also be sporting the club's kit to work and are encouraging other companies in Bradford to take part.

Club spokesman Wendy Kestin said: "Shelter is a very worthwhile cause. People do not realise how many families are walking the streets with nowhere to go through no fault of their own.

"We would urge everyone to get involved with the campaign by wearing their football shirts to work. Every penny raised will help combat the problem."

And to mark Strip 4 Shelter, the club has teamed up with the Telegraph & Argus to give readers the chance to win two tickets for the home game against Preston North End on Saturday.
