An Addingham couple who befriended Yoko Ono are to bare all in support of the former Beatles wife's latest protest for world peace.

Christine and Andrew Gale will be following Yoko's lead by cutting off their underwear and sending bits of the garments to the 70-year-old musician, Nelson Mandela and other figures of peace. They will then be photographed in modest poses.

Yoko is staging a peace protest by standing in an art gallery while she has pieces of her clothes cut off until she is naked.

Christine and Andrew, 39, decided to lend their support after Yoko backed them when they staged two peace protests in their bed. The couple emulated Yoko and John Lennon's week-long love-in protest against the Vietnam War with lie-ins on Valentine's Day and in April.

Yoko heard about their protest and sent flowers and phoned to support them.

Scriptwriter Andrew said: "She supported us so we are supporting her protest.

"Her protest is brave and courageous. This Full Monty for peace is a small price to pay while people are losing their lives in war."
