School cook Sandra Turner, pictured, admits she was foxed when her catering company went computerised.
The catering manager at Wyke Manor School had 30 years' experience in the business but was not used to having to handle spreadsheets and data.
Determined to overcome the problem, she enrolled at the school's on-site city learning centre, which offers adult training. She has now been rewarded for her hard work with a national Employee of the Month award from her company, Sodexho.
"It has been hard for me, but I am getting there," said Mrs Turner, 56, pictured above, who lives near the school and is married with three grown-up sons.
The school's business manager Jacqueline Clayburn said: "Sandra is a lovely lady. I am delighted she has got this award." Her prize is £100 in High Street shopping vouchers.
