Bishop Auckland 1, Guiseley 0: Ten-man Guiseley could not spark a comeback at Bishop Auckland after the home side took an early lead and they slipped to another defeat in UniBond Division One.
Guiseley were the more
creative side but lacked finishing power.
Bishop Auckland scored from a route one attack in the 18th minute, Stephen Manson getting on the end of a long punt and sliding the ball in.
Then, Guiseley striker Scott Jackson was sent off just five minutes into the second half but the visitors still carved out openings.
"Another game has gone by in which we lost by the odd goal, the only goal in this case," said disappointed manager Neil Parsley.
"Stuart Airdrie put some quality balls into their box but we couldn't find the vital touch. I couldn't ask for any more commitment from my side though, the fact that we had 70 to 75 per cent of the play is a credit to the boys.
"I still feel gutted, no disrespect to Bishops but other sides will come here and do less yet win. We were down to ten men early in the second half and I made three changes to get all the substitutes on so I honestly think we could have done no more."
Jackson was dismissed for a second bookable offence and though both camps claimed the referee was poor Parsley refused to seek consolation in that.
"Scott's first yellow card was silly, indiscipline. I thought the second was six of one and half a dozen of the other but he has put himself in that position because of the first offence."
