TRAFFIC was diverted thro-ugh Pool in Wharfedale and Otley last week after a 38-tonne lorry overturned at Old Pool Bank.
The accident happened at the Bar House corner, near the turn-off for Old Pool Bank road, at 5.45am on Thursday, October 9, and involved a wagon carrying scrap metal.
The driver had managed to get out of his cabin before the emergency services arrived, and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with minor injuries.
The police, meanwhile, blocked off the A660 main road between the Dyneley Arms and Otley right into the afternoon as recovery vehicles struggled to right the lorry.
The crash was the second one to involve a heavy goods vehicle in the Otley area within a month - and happened only days before a mass protest march by campaigners trying to ban lorries from the town.
