Grattan Warehouses Ltd, the Bradford mail order company, has major plans for a large section of the former Thorn TV factory at Lidget Green. Talks between Grattan and Thorn Consumer Eelctronics about the possibility of the firm leasing the newer of the two former Thorn factories at Beckside Lane have reached an advanced stage, said Grattan's operations director, Mr John Haslam.

Mr George Cansdale, the famous TV zoo-man, was like a modern Pied Piper when he visited Bradford and District Aquarist Society's show at the Mechanics' Institute last night. But instead of a pipe to play, he had the aid of, and the task of coping with, Mr Polly a mischievous bush baby. All the children at the exhibition crowded round Mr Cansdale and Mr Polly, and the small animal delighted not only the younger set with his antics.
