FIREFIGHTERS were called to two separate blazes that took hold of businesses in Barnoldswick over the weekend.
Four fire engines from Barnoldswick, Earby and Nelson were called to a fire at Carlson Filtration's dispatches department in the early hours of Saturday.
Policemen on patrol in the town alerted firefighters at around 1.30am after smelling smoke.
The blaze damaged a large amount of paper filters and an electric pallet truck.
Barnoldswick fire station officer, Ray Bowker, said: "There was severe damage to a section of north light roofing.
"About 100 square metres was destroyed by the fire, but because the fire was spotted so soon the damage was kept to a minimum."
Firefighters had to clear the building of its contents and were at the site until 8.30am.
Later that day a fire took hold of Gisburn Street garages, a mechanics workshop located off Skipton Road.
Two pumps from Barnoldswick were called to the scene at around 7.30pm when firefighters found flames just breaking through the workshop's asbestos roof.
Mr Bowker said: "There was a lot of damage to the workshop with approximately 20 square metres of damage to the roof and a vehicle inside was also damaged."
