Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera Ruddigore concerns the ghostly past of the Murgatroyd family of East Riddlesden Hall.
As a result productions of the show have been traditionally set a few hundred years in the past.
Not so Haworth West Lane Baptist Amateur Operatic Society -- it has instead plumped for the 1950s.
This bodes well since the group is used to changing the traditional settings and costumes for its annual G&S presentation.
The principal cast includes both regulars and newcomers, including James Hutton, Ray Waters, Janine McAndrew, Stephen Simpson and Bill and Linda Bairstow.
Jacqui Sugden, another of the principals, promises a fun evening's entertainment for all the family.
She says this year's musical director is Pam Dimbleby, who will be supported by accompanist Robin Terry.
Jacqui adds: "They are maintaining the excellent musical standards of recent years to produce a quality chorus, as expected by the Haworth audiences."
