The Canon pastor at Bradford Cathedral is to take the helm at a Bingley church.
The Reverend Derek Jackson has been appointed as priest-in-charge of All Saints church, Bingley.
He will work as team rector of the Bingley Team Ministry, which comprises All Saints, Bingley, Eldwick and Crossflatts, along with the team vicar, the Reverend Hugh Fielden.
"I'm very excited about going to Bingley, particularly at this time when the town will have a new lease of life when the bypass opens," said Mr Jackson.
"I am really looking forward to exploring creative ways in which the Christian presence can be celebrated in Bingley."
Mr Jackson came to Bradford in 2000 as a Residentiary Canon at the Cathedral.
Shortly after his arrival he was made acting Dean for 18 months.
He previously spent 25 years in Cumbria where he was vicar of St Mary's, Winder-mere, and Jesus Church, Troutbeck, and Rural Dean of Windermere. His wife Joan is a member of the Chaplaincy Team at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke's, and assistant Priest at Holy Trinity church in Bingley.
They have two sons, David, 27, and Paul, 22.
Mr Jackson's licensing will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at All Saints church at 7.30pm.
