Jack Taylor, Bradford's largest celebrity, was taken to hospital after breaking his leg in a fall at his home at 2am today.
The 58-year-old, who estimates he weighs 50 stones, had to be lifted by ten firefighters after falling over in his living room.
Two fire crews were called out after Mr Taylor managed to dial 999. They used a mid-stretcher and huge piece of sheeting to carry him outside.
He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with a broken left femur.
Station Officer Harvey Stuart, of Bradford fire station, said: "It took ten of us to lift him out of the house and on to the floor of the ambulance," he said.
"We also had to then lift him into Bradford Royal Infirmary where they had made a makeshift bed out of mattresses."
They later lifted Mr Taylor on to a special bed which had to be delivered to the hospital.
The Telegraph & Argus revealed three years ago that Mr Taylor, a bachelor, had not left his home in Manningham, for 25 years.
