A student has been shot at with a paintball gun, leading to police warnings about "dangerous behaviour".
A lollipop man was hit as well as the 16-year-old girl by a paint-filled pellet during the attack in Wyke.
Rebecca Mortimer, pictured with mum Julie, said she was on her way back to her Low Moor home from school when a group of youths pointed the "gun" at her from a passing car near the Crown pub in Huddersfield Road.
The 16-year-old Wyke Community College student, who was alone at the time, said: "There was a car behind me and the guy in the passenger seat shot me in the leg and drove off.
"I put my hand on my leg panicking and wondering if I was bleeding and then I realised it was paint. It really hurt and the top of my left leg was all red and swollen.
"There is paint all over my jeans. I could not stop crying and I was shaking."
Rebecca ran into the nearby Kandy Kabin where owner Donald Peers called 999.
But Rebecca and her mum had to wait four days after last Friday's attack before they were visited by a police officer.
Rebecca said she had spoken out to warn other people to be on their guard.
"It was horrible for this to happen to me but there are a lot of little primary school children in that area and what if the same boys got one of them," she said.
A lollipop man who patrols a crossing at the top of Wilson Road, near to where Rebecca was hit, was shot in the hand by a paintball gun on the same day.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Unfortunately no officers were readily available at the time to attend to speak to the victim. This is clearly dangerous behaviour and we are making enquiries to trace those responsible."
Daniel Janes, manager of Bradford's Go Ballistic indoor paintball centre in Ripley Street, said: "This sort of thing brings a bad name to the whole sport and using paintball guns outside special sites should be avoided at all costs.
"The guns can be classed as a weapon at certain speeds if they are modified but there is no legislation as they are sold."
