Simply the best! The celebrations were continuing today as Bradford basked in the glory of having Britain's best rugby league team.
Thousands of Bulls' fans gave their double-winning heroes a rapturous welcome home yesterday after they clinched the Super League Grand Final championship trophy with a stunning second half blitz ro run up a 25-12 win against the Wigan Warriors at Old Trafford.
By doing so, the Bulls players put themselves firmly in the history books by becoming the first team to win the Super League, the Challenge Cup and the Minor Premiership in a single season.
Bradford rugby league legend Trevor Foster joined the triumphant team on an open bus ride from Odsal to Centenary Square yesterday as the players were greeted by cheering crowds.
"This is a true feeling of joy - one of the greatest occasions this city has seen," he said.
"It is a day of unsurpassed greatness for the city of Bradford and for the people of Bradford."
Bradford Council leader Margaret Eaton joined the joyous fans who packed into Centenary Square.
"Bradford Bulls have once again shown what wonderful ambassadors they are for Bradford," she said.
The Bishop of Bradford, the Right Reverend David James, agreed it was a superb weekend for the city.
"They have shown the rest of the world that Bradford is successful and we have every right to shout about it," he said.
