A 33-year-old man who plunged 100 feet to his death while walking in the Dales has been named as Andrew Cooper, from Brindley Court, Skipton. Mr Cooper died in Leeds General Infirmary on Tuesday October 14 after falling while walking between Clapham and Austwick along Thwaite Lane. A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said an inquest had been opened into Mr Cooper's death and adjourned for further inquiries. The cause of death was recorded as severe head injuries.
