MEMBERS of the Bismillah Karate Club picked up a string of trophies in the SKU British Open Championships.
Carly Robinson took gold in the 6-4kyu Under-5ft section with Sarah Ahmed second inthe 6-4 kyu Under 4ft 6ins section. Jo-Anne robinson was second and Naleem Ilyas third in thegirls 3kyu Under-4ft 6ins.
Waseem Ahmed was third inthe boys 6-4 kyu Under-4ft 6ins section and Mosin Iqbal was also third in the 6-4 kyu Under-4ft 6ins.
Saquib Iqbal was third in the Under 5ft 6ins 6-4kyu, Umar Majeed was third in the 6-4 kyu Over 5ft 6ins and Umar Maroof was also third in the men's 6-4 kyu. Khwan Ilyas was third in the boys 3rd kyu 16-17 years section.
The Seidokan Karate Club team was crowned British champions after winning the team event at the Shukokai-Shitu Ryu British Karate Championships at Sheffield.
The team of Paul Newby, Ben Bottomley, Cain Canning an Michael Shrives beat Sakai Scotland in the final.
Earlier Zeeshan Faraz won the boys under-5ft brown belt section and Azem Alyas was second. In th emen's under-75k fighting Paul Royston was third and Michael Shrives was second with Cain Canning taking the title.
