Bradford Park Avenue marched into the first round proper of the FA Cup on Saturday and were immediately rewarded with a home tie against Bristol City.

Near neighbours Farsley Celtic were also named in the draw but they have to negotiate a tough replay tomorrow at Gainsborough Trinity after a 1-1 stalemate at Throstle Nest.

"It was a super win at Runcorn and an absolutely superb draw for the club to get a Nationwide Division Two club at home in the first round," said delighted Avenue boss Trevor Storton.

"The players are over the moon and rightly so because they have earned it.

"But myself, I'm just made up for chairman Frank Thornton. After the money and effort he has put into bringing Avenue back to life he deserves it more than anyone."

Storton says the club would consider moving the tie to a bigger venue - City have already offered them Valley Parade - but adds there is a lot of discussion needed before a decision is made.

"If Sky choose it as one the games they want to cover I would like it to be at Horsfall Stadium. But we will have to see how many supporters Bristol City are expecting to bring.

"Some of the financial benefit could be lost if we have to hire a ground to stage it but that depends on the size of the crowd, the safety aspects and the advice from the police. I will have to talk to my chairman before anything is certain but one thing is for sure, wherever the venue we will enjoy ourselves.

"We could have won through and got a team from our own league or a Conference side. A difficult tie to win and one with not the same revenue on offer, this is as good as we could have hoped for."

Farsley Celtic chairman Andy Firbank was also pleased with a trip to Second Division Brentford - if they win their replay at Gainsborough.

Firbank said."I'd be delighted to take our team to Brentford, but look what has happened so far, we had an attendance of 787 for the home game against Gainsborough and a lot of them were locals.

"It is up to us to get those locals hooked on the club now and move forward."
