Real ale and beer lovers are invited to sample more than 20 brews at a beer festival organised by Queensbury, Shelf and District Round Table.

The event kicks off at 6pm on Thursday at Northowram Community Centre, Halifax Road in Northowram, and there will be 24 different ales and a few ciders, to try.

The event runs at the same time and location on Friday and Saturday and culminates in a Bavarian event on Saturday complete with an traditional 'oompah' band.

Chris Bowers from Queensbury, Shelf and District Round Table said: "This is the first time we've organised a beer festival but the Bavarian stomp has been going for a few years.

"We are hoping to drum up more members to join the Queensbury, Shelf and District Round Table at the event. In addition to that, we'll raise money for local charities."

Round Table accepts men between 18 and 45 and the sister organisation Ladies Circle also accepted women of the same age. The club meets twice monthly at the Old White Beare in Norwood Green.

The event costs £1 admission and £1 to hire a glass. Tickets for the stomp, at £7, can be obtained from 07743 393575.
