Bradford Park Avenue will play their first-round FA Cup tie against Bristol City at Horsfall Stadium where there is a 3,300 capacity - unless they encounter problems with the council's safety officers.
Avenue are disappointed that Sky have decided not to televise the game.
Commercial director Paul Grayson said: "It is a shame but we still feel at the moment that Horsfall is our best option, but of course that could all change.
"We are meeting with safety officers later today and after that we will be able to announce more details."
Avenue hope they will be allowed to put temporary seating around the running track.
"Our biggest crowd at Horsfall was 1,000 for a friendly against Bradford City," said Grayson. "We are licensed for 3,300 but that has never been tested."
Avenue do not yet know when the game will be staged.
"City have a home game on Saturday, November 8 against Walsall and the police might not like the two games taking place at the same time."
The other options would be Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.
Manager Trevor Storton, who does not rule out a giant-killing act, plans to watch Bristol play against Luton on Saturday in a Second Division match.
He said: "We believe we can get a result against Bristol. I will not have to motivate my players - there is nothing better for them than playing against a league club."
Bristol City manager Danny Wilson admits he knows little about Avenue. "It's another tricky little tie for us and we've had a few of those in the past few seasons," he said."
