An injury-ravaged Queensbury side crashed to a 20-0 defeat at Westgate Redoubt.
Bury, lacking the key trio of Darren Brown, Carl Smith and Lee Charlton, were always second best against the Wakefield side that are making a strong challenge for Pennine League Premier Division honours.
The crisis had its inevitable knock-on effect on team selection but a depleted Queensbury A came within a whisker of upsetting the odds, only to lose narrowly at home to Stainland Stags 16-10 in Division Two.
Bury trailed 8-0 at the break but long serving stand off Andy Thornton started the fightback with a try, improved by scrum half Johnny Feather which was closely followed with a splendid effort from young wingman Matthew Wolski.
Bury looked to have the Stags on the run but a head-high tackle by hooker Neil Hobson earned him a spell in the sin bin and Bury's chances went with him.
In Division One, Odsal Sedbergh are in bottom spot following their 18-14 defeat at Crigglestone All Blacks, and West Bowling are just one place above them after losing 28-20 at Keighley Town. Town were 24-6 at half-time after tries from winger Jason Barnes, Rocky McNulty, a 35-yard solo effort by Darren McNulty and a fourth from centre Rob Spencer. Barnes kicked three conversions plus a penalty.
At 24-20 Town's defence started to tire but they sealed victory with a try just before the final whistle from Spencer.
Bowling's tries came from James Dewhirst, Brad Conway, Anthony Davies and Paul Robertshaw.
Division Five pacesetters Thornton had to pull out all the stops to see off a strong challenge from Victoria Rangers A before eventually winning 22-14 at Hill Top.
The Vics bagged two tries from wingman Wayne Hearsum and a cracker from sub Saqib Mirza to ensure it was all square at 14-14 at the break.
Thornton used the slope to their advantage to edge home with a solid performance in the second
stanza.
Carl Light and father and son act Dave and Leon Williams crossed and Matt Fuller scored a try and kicked three goals for Thornton.
Undercliffe made it five wins in a row with a 34-12 success against West Bowling B.
Bowling's Paul Armitage and Carl Moss posted tries and Craig Hillam kicked two goals.
Undercliffe handed home debuts to Darren Clayton, Stuart Padgett and Lee Nellist, who all settled well and made sure Undercliffe continued their winning streak.
Man of the match was Liam Jordan, who ran in a hat-trick of tries. Other tries came from Rick Brown and Simon Palmer, Christian Story converting three times and Damien Padgett once.
