The world's greatest museum of design and art is "pushing" the skills of Bingley pram makers Silver Cross into the limelight.
From now until early December, visitors to the Victoria & Albert Museum of Childhood can see for themselves just why the firm has been consistently popular with royalty and celebrities alike.
Britain's oldest pram maker has teamed up with the V&A's Bethnal Green museum to exhibit its traditional coach-built prams as part of a Passion For Prams display.
Silver Cross has a history of hand -making prams for young royals since its success story first began in 1877, and more recently its designs have been snapped up by actress Catherine Zeta Jones and other celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Brooke Shields and Victoria Beckham.
Silver Cross UK Limited managing director Nick Paxton was thrilled to loan the museum both its oldest and newest prams to go on show.
Mr Paxton said: "After making prams for more than 125 years we have a lot of stories to tell, so we leapt at the chance to show off some of the Silver Cross archives. We're sure it will bring back some good memories for visitors but also show them that this traditional baby vehicles is as popular as ever in 2003."
The Balmoral pram is one of the first new designs to be made at the Bingley factory since the company moved there from Guiseley.
The museum's curator of dress and nursery collections, Noreen Marshall, said: "The Silver Cross pram is a wonderfully powerful symbol of many British childhoods which is why we looked forward to hosting this pram retrospective."
The display runs until Thursday, December 4.
