Scores of people set up a Yorkshire first today by having lunch at Bradford City Hall. The result could be thousands of extra visitors to Bradford. For about 80 of the guests were representatives of organisations which hold conferences. After eating their fill, they were asked to digest information aimed at making they seriously consider bringing their conferences to Bradford. The civic lunch was part of the Bristol plan, which is being tried for the first time in Yorkshire. (There are no prizes for guessing where it was pioneered)

Mr Francis Laidler has applied for licences to allow Bradford children to take part as Sunbeams in his coming pantomimes in Bradford and Leeds. The Education Committee will be asked to approve a recommendation that licences be granted for 15 children from the Bradford pantomime from 23 December until 6 March, with one matinee a week: and 14 children for the Leeds show, from 24 December to 24 April, with one matinee a week in term time.
