Pupils from Aire View Infant School, in Silsden, enjoyed a day of glorious sunshine on a seaside trip to Whitby.
Seventy-seven year two children went on the visit as part of their history and geography work on the seaside.
They were able to experience for themselves the coastal features they had been learning about, such as the sights, sounds and smells of the harbour and pier.
Assistant head Sally Brown, who organised the day out, said: "We had a wonderful day.
"The children were very excited and they are now producing some lovely follow-up work in school," she said.
Pupil Thomas Rooke, aged six writes: "We went on a coach to Whitby. When we got there we had a picnic. When we finished we went down 199 steps to old Whitby. We went over a bridge to new Whitby. We saw fish, seagulls and an old lifeboat. Then we saw two lighthouses, one big and one little. Then we had a drink and went back to the school."
