The partner of the woman who died in Tuesday's car accident in South Street, paid tribute to her yesterday.

Louise Adel Thomas, 29, said Tracey Taylor, 32, was the most wonderful woman she had ever met.

"She was so full of fun. I wouldn't have changed anything about her," she said.

Tracey (pictured) was a social worker at Calderdale Royal Hospital, in Halifax. She met Louise, a nurse at Airedale Hospital, via the Internet six months ago.

Louise said: "You always felt really privileged to be in her company. She didn't suffer fools gladly, but once you were her friend, it was for life."

Louise said Tracey was about to move from Leeds to Keighley to her house.

She said her sons, Philip, seven, and Matthew, four, were devastated by Tracey's death.

"She fit so much in with the lads in the six months she knew them. They thought the world of her," she said.

Tracey was born and raised in Newcastle. She moved to Chester to complete a health and social care degree, then qualified as a social worker at Leeds Metropolitan University in July.

She was due to graduate this month.

A fan of travelling, she had backpacked around Europe, Australia and Thailand, and had just returned from a family holiday in Rhodes with Louise and her sons.

Louise said: "I would just like to thank the people who tried to help Tracey on the day of the accident. I am ever so grateful. They tried their best."

Tracey's mother, who lives in Australia, is coming over for the funeral, which is planned for Wednesday, at the Knowle Chapel of Rest, Keighley.

Louise said the chapel would be full. "She always said her friends were her family," she said.

She plans to organise a special night at the Old Star pub, in Silsden, for Tracey as a celebration of her life.
