YOUNGSTERS flocked to Sough Park on Saturday to show off what they can do on wheels.
Bikers, skaters and bladers from all over the district attended the demonstration, organised by the Victory Wheelie Park Group.
"The day was a great success with lots of children turning up. Thirty or more children came from Barrowford, Colne, Nelson and Skipton as well as from Barnoldswick, Kelbrook, Sough and Earby," said secretary of the group, Jackie Taylforth.
"Kids who travelled in from out of town went to stay with their friends locally the night before because they were so excited about the day. They were up at the park at 8am in the frost waiting for it to begin."
Parishioners from churches throughout West Craven provided free refreshments for the participants and spectators.
The Wheels within Wheels project at Nelson provided portable ramps for the event while Pendle Council's parks department provided a generator so the children could have music to accompany their demonstration.
Mrs Taylforth added that the day was a real community effort with even the children's grandparents helping out on the day.
The youngsters impressed a crowd of spectators with their numerous stunts and the best performers are to be rewarded with a trip to Darwen Rhythm Skate Park.
"The standard of the stunts was really good and the youngsters had put a lot of practise into their displays," said Mrs Taylforth.
She added that the Victory Wheelie Park Group - which campaigned for a wheel park at Victory Park in Barnoldswick - was generating a huge amount of interest from children across the district.
She said the group's next aim was to install floodlighting at Victory Park, but she would also like to know what the local youngsters would like to see happen at the site.
Mrs Taylforth would also like to hear from anyone with fundraising ideas. She can be contacted on 01282 814930.
