Bradford businessman Dayal Sharma has picked-up an annual award from the Bazm-E-Urdu literary society in recognition of his contribution to the community.
Mr Sharma, who is chief executive of the Euro-Asian Resource group which promotes environmental responsibility among Asian firms, received the award for his fundraising efforts.
He was given the honour at an event in Bradford attended by around 30 guests including the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Allan Hillary and leading members of the Sikh and Hindu communities.
Mr Sharma, who said he was honoured to receive the award, has held a host of positions in various groups including the Bradford Law Centre, the Hindu Cultural Society of Bradford, the Bradford and District Police Liaison Committee and the Bradford Crime Prevention Panel.
He was also founder of the Institute of Asian Business and has interviewed major political figures for various media organisations.
