Bonfires produced no serious injuries in Bradford and district as thousands of people enjoyed themselves in perfect conditions. Well organised big fires and back-garden stacks of wood - unusually dry owing to the Indian summer - were soon lighting up the sky, the flames being fanned in the light breeze. Bradford Royal Infirmary reported that only nine people were treated in the casualty department for treatment to bonfire and fireworks burns.
