Football legend Peter Lorimer will add a little sparkle to Burley-in-Wharfe-dale when he switches on the Christmas lights.
"Hot-shot" Lorimer, 56, made his mark as part of the great Leeds United side of the sixties and seventies.
He holds the all-time goal scoring record for Leeds, and has won 21 caps for Scotland.
Mr Lorimer, who has family connections with the village, will perform the switch on ceremony at 4.30pm on November 29.
The soccer hero is bound to be a big draw to the event, which includes a Christmas street market for the first time ever.
Organisers say 26 professional stall holders had already booked pitches, and they will be supported by a wealth of entertainment.
Chamber of Trade Chair-man James Richards said a section of road between the two mini roundabouts would be closed off to accomodate the event.
He added: "This is a new initiative which we hope will take off and grow in future years. If next year we got enough interest to shut off the whole of the main street we would be delighted."
And he predicted the fair would soon be better than rival events such as Otley.
He stressed: "We are absolutely amazed at the response so far. It has been phenomenol."
The fair will be held bet-ween 2pm and 5.30pm.
