A bus driver was threatened with what was believed to be a handgun by a youth demanding cash.
The 219 bus was being driven from Heckmondwike along Leeds Old Road at Six Lane Ends. The incident happened as the youth - thought to be aged 15 or 16 - flagged down the bus at a stop just after the mini-roundabout heading towards White Lee.
Police said he pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the driver and demanded money. The driver refused, closed the doors and drove off.
There was also a female passenger on the bus who police would like to speak to as she may have witnessed the event.
Anyone with information about the incident, which took place at 7.19pm on Thursday, October 30, is asked to contact DC Steve Swailes on (01924) 431151.
