Children enjoyed winding back the clock for a day of historic activities to mark a special anniversary.
Pupils at Netherleigh and Rossefield School in Parsons Road, Heaton, had some fun writing on slates, using quills, and taking part in special playground drills in place of their 'normal' PE lessons.
The events took place to mark the 100th anniversary of the school.
Head teacher Mary Midgley said: "The staff are absolutely exhausted but the children enjoyed themselves."
