It might seem an unlikely journey from Bradford's JobCentre Plus to an Apache Indian concert in Karachi, Pakistan.

But it's all part of the job for a pair of Bradford brothers whose security business is booming just 12 months after it was set-up.

Shamsher Malik, who processes claims for the JobCentre Plus during the day, and his brother Umar, established Elite Top Guards after gaining years of experience in the security industry.

It now boasts a team of 20 security officers, with experience from the armed forces, police and civilian sectors.

After years of manning the doors at Bradford nightspots, the brothers are now building a reputation for VIP security.

That recently included helping a team of armed police control a 9,000-strong crowd at the Apache Indian concert in Karachi.

The link-up originated from a meeting at Bradford Mela and the concert went so well, they have been invited to help during the band's two-week Pakistan tour in January.

Earlier in the year, the company also looked after one of 'Lollywood's' most famous singers, Rahim Shah, for his concert at Bradford City FC.

The business is currently based in the Marshfields area of Bradford but is seeking a new HQ in the city. And the brothers are keen to recruit new people from the Trident area to help bolster the force.

"We are also actively looking for regular contracts, allowing us to employ more people on a permanent basis," said Shamsher.

"In your first year you don't expect to make much, but we never thought we'd progress this far, this quickly. We have been careful to plough profits back into the business to build a long term future.

He also praised the support they have received from Trident's Enterprise Devel-opment Scheme and Business Link, in particular advisor Phil Harrison.

The business is now hoping to continue its growth, particularly through its recently launched website at www.elitetopguards.com
