East Bowling moved into the second round of the League Cup with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Wibsey. Bowling held a comfortable 5-1 lead thanks to goals from Talot Mahmood (2), Atik Hussain, Nasir Rehman and Justin Lundie but on the hour Wibsey brought on three substitutes and almost pulled off a major turnaround. Goals from Carl Yewdale, to add to one he scored in the first half, Lee Taylor and Craig Hinchcliffe brought Wibsey back into the game, but they couldn't find the elusive equaliser. White Hart United and U-Save fought out a exciting 3-3 draw the last time they met and the replay proved to be just as competitive. U-Save scored against the run of play when captain Craig Delaney had a shot tipped on to the post only for Lee Stranney to net the rebound after 28 minutes. U-Save scored again after 40 minutes through Andy Armitage and, after soaking up a sustained spell of pressure in the second half, made the game safe with goals from Mahmood Arshard, Justin Simmons and substitute Neil Woods. The only league match played on Saturday saw Blackstone beating Eccleshill Victoria 4-2. In the Junior section South Bradford had a convincing
8-1 victory over Knights FC with Scott Simpson scoring a hat-trick.
