Bradford Chess Club stepped up their pursuit of the Yorkshire League title with an 8-0 defeat of Huddersfield A.
They fielded their strongest side so far and have high hopes.
The B team lost narrowly at Wakefield A.
Andrew Bak won and five matches were drawn against some strong opposition, but the team went down 4-3.
Bradford Central had an excellent win 4-3 at Calderdale A. Peter Rooney, Mark Crowther and Keith Trobridge scored full points and Phil Watson, Graham Clarke and Paul Day drew to give Central the points.
In the Bradford League, Undercliffe B, containing Leeds-based players, forged ahead with a 5- victory over Polish B.
Shipley A are close behind winning 3-2 over South Bradford A. On top board, Graham Clarke drew with David Barlow and Dennis Breen and Paul Solomons both won for the visitors. But on the bottom three boards, George Laszlo, Fazal Rabbi and Paul Keosh were unstoppable.
Undercliffe A beat Polish A 4-1.
Mike Walker defeated the highly-rated Peter Rooney and Les Tatar also won.
Ilkley A beat Bradford Chess Club 150 by 3-2.
Peter Brown, John Brooke and Jonathan Summers all won while Chris Wright and Geoff Smith replied for Bradford. Mark Rogerson's draw with Ihor Lewyk on Board One settled it.
