Gomersal took advantage of Idle's week off to continue their challenge for the secondary title.
An unbeaten 65 from Steve Pollard helped the second-placed side to six points with Brighouse the victims on a wet West Yorkshire Saturday.
Brighouse could manage just 139 for five, leaving the door open for a Gomersal win.
And the opportunity was duly taken, with an eight-wicket victory and 26 overs still to come.
But not everyone at the top could take advantage, with Bradford and Bingley's hopes hit by the River Aire, which flooded their ground.
Bottom-side Bowling Old Lane were due a trip to Wagon Lane, but four days of rain put paid to that match and the six points Bingley would have been hoping for.
They remain four points adrift of the promotion spots after having to settle for just a point when surely another five could have been manageable for Pat Fordham's boys.
Keighley also missed their chance because of the weather.
But with the Heavy Woollen Cup also on their weekend agenda, the break might not have been such a bad thing.
Their game to Salts succumbed to the rain and Keighley have ten points to make up if they want to play Division One sides on a more regular basis.
Manningham Mills and Drighlington joined forces to provide the only real run-fest of the dismal cricketing day.
Richard Whitehurst hit the division's only century, his 112, combined with 71 from Imran Patel, helping Drighlington to 227 for seven at Manningham.
Their 173-run partnership for the fourth wicket provided the backbone of the innings and set up the victory.
Despite an impressive 98 from Gulsheraz Ahmed, the home side could only get to 217 before being dismissed in the 43rd over.
Saltaire and Esholt, meanwhile, provided the opposite in a game clearly reserved for the bowlers.
Darren Drake picked up seven wickets for just 28 runs as Saltaire were pinned down to 59 in the 26 overs they stayed around for.
And within ten overs of the tea break, victory went to the visitors.
Their 61 came for the loss of three wickets with Imran Khan being hit for 15 in ten balls.
A 40 from young Mally Nicholson wasn't enough to save Windhill from their tenth defeat of a disappointing season.
His was the only knock of note as the young side were dismissed for 128.
Hartshead Moor reached their target with only two wickets down, seven bowlers trying, and failing, to save the
game.
In the other game of the day, Morley lost
six of their wickets to an on-fire Andy Marshall as Bankfoot dismissed the home side for 129.
The visitors lost seven wickets in reaching the target which gave them six points in the continued chase for the slim chance of
promotion.
