A kind-hearted businessman is calling on organisations in the district to get in touch if they want a website.

Chris Wilson, who runs Five Lane Ends firm Procare Computers, says he wants to help a non-profit making organisation by setting up a site for them.

Mr Wilson, 42, said: "Having done lots of community work all my life, I know how desperately hard it can be to raise much-needed funds.

"Having your own website can help tremendously with marketing and fundraising efforts."

Apart from running the firm and studying IT with the Open University, Mr Wilson also dedicates part of his time to local agencies which look after the sick and terminally ill.

He said: "Having worked in the voluntary sector for a number of years since the age of 13, I can appreciate that the cost and complexity of developing and hosting a new website is prohibitive to many non-profit making organisations and charities.

"If I can help raise the profile of even a small handful by providing them with their own website, I'm sure it would boost their efforts.

"To develop your own website needn't mean owning a computer or having lots of money to spend.

"I'll help with the cost of putting together a website for any deserving organisation, and maybe provide some dedicated hosting too."

Procare, which started trading earlier this year, specialises in web-based technologies, market research and analysis, strategic planning and business and personal websites.

Mr Wilson added: "Putting together a simple website consisting of a few pages is easy... almost anyone can do it.

"The key to building a successful site is to design for a targeted, qualified audience, which is where the research and planning comes into play even before a single page is constructed."
