Pupils at Glusburn Primary School got a pizza the action in the kitchen.
The four and five-year-olds of the reception class paid a visit to Morrisons' supermarket, in Skipton, before getting stuck into a bit of Italian cooking for their families.
The 44 youngsters were given a tour of the store and in particular the pizza department where they saw the recipes being made up and learnt about the ingredients.
Then in the afternoon, after watching the experts at work, the children returned to school for a pizza party where they were let loose to create their very own pizzas.
Later, parents were invited to the school to sample the fruits of their children's endeavours.
The trip was arranged with the help of the North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership (NYBEP), which seeks to strengthen the links between industry and schools.
