THE Yorkshire County Parks Association's Team Cup competition continues on Sunday, August 4, when the final rounds of the Brotherton Cup will be held.
Local Airedale Wharfedale teams involved are Myrtle Park, who play Crossroads at Knowles Park and Shipley A who play Merton House at Eccleshill. The games start at 10am. The estimated time of the final at Pudsey BC is 4pm.
The Yorkshire County Association in their consideration of the two Premier County Team competitions have circulated the county associations including Airedale Wharfedale, for their views on fundamental changes.
The proposals from the executive is that the Yorkshire Cup stays the same, ie a 12-member team, male only, to be played on a straight knock-out basis. The Henry Taylor Competition to become a separate competition open to "teams in which female bowlers may be included". This will also become a straight knock-out basis.
Both competitions to be played on the same dates. A decision is to be made by the executive at their meeting on September 5.d the day,
