THE Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League's Birtwhistle Cup final will take place at Calverley CC on Sunday with a 2 pm start.
The trophy will be contested by Bilton and North Leeds bringing to an end Guiseley's recent domination of the competition.
Guiseley had won the trophy for the past four years but their attempt on a fifth win was ended by Follifoot at the quarter-final stage.
In this year's semi-finals Bilton disposed of Burley who could not match the run rate despite the efforts of Mark Dearden (45), Peter Sumner (38), Marcus McLeod (35 no) and Martin Robinson (22). Bilton had made 230 with half-centuries from C Dawson and N Grainger.
In the other semi-final North Leeds disposed of Follifoot who set a target of 188 for nine and could only watch as North Leeds went past it with four overs to spare. Opener S Hussain set the tone with a knock of 62 which was followed by good efforts from M Hall (35) and Guy Hollis (42).
In the earlier rounds North Leeds had beaten Otley by a massive 154 runs, Bardsey by seven wickets and Silsden by seven wickets.
For their part Bilton disposed of Menston when Menston conceded, Kirkstall Educational by eight wickets and Steeton. Bilton are seeking their first ever trophy win whereas North Leeds have won the Birtwhistle Cup eight times with victories in in 1956, 1957, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1980, 1983 and 1992.
Sunday's final will be sponsored by Communisis Plc of Wakefield Road, Leeds.
Programmes will be £1.50 for adults and £1 for children and OAPs.
Car parking at the Birtwhistle Cup Final will be strictly controlled. Cars will be allowed into the park and will then be stationed on the football field.
Entry to the park will be via Carr Road, the main road from Rodley to Greengates and the club asks that all approaches be made from the Leeds/Rodley direction to avoid congestion on the main road.
