WORLD trials champion Dougie Lampkin returns to his own doorstep when the British Championship comes to Silsden on Sunday.
Dougie, who has dominated the sport across the world, is just three points ahead of Graham Jarvis in the race to the British title and neither rider can afford to slip on on home ground.
But the organisers, Yeadon, Guiseley and District Motor Club, have designed a tough course among the cliffs of Adddingham Moorside where Lampkin does much of his home-ground testing.
After picking up two wins in the first three round of the championship with Jarvis having won the opening round. But after this weekend there will be rounds iat Widdecombe in Devon and at Rochdale in October before the title is decided.
If Jarvis wins then the scores will be level, but Lampkin is back to full fitness after recovering from an ankle injury.
Another member of the Lampkin family, Dougie's cousin James, who acts as mechanic on the World Trials Tour, aims to win the Expert section which he leads by just one point from Dan Hemmingway - yet another cousin.
The cream of British riders will be at the trial, with exception of Steve Colley who has opted to miss the national series this year.
The event is sponsored by Keighley motorcycle dealer Colin Appleyard, who stepped in at the last minute to give his support to the event.
Practice sessions start at 8.30am with the main competition starting at 11.30 covering three laps of 12 sections. The first rider is not expected to finish until 5pm.
The championship riders are expected to start shortly after midday.
