Harrogate Railway Athletic 3 Liversedge 3
Liversedge could have no complaints about coming away from Harrogate with just one point from their Northern Counties East Premier Division clash.
When the sides met at Clayborn in the reverse fixture Sedge boss Lacy, and for that matter his opposite number Martin Haresign, felt his side should have had a maximum.
Former Farsley Celtic boss Haresign had only just taken charge of the Railwaymen then but Saturday saw a marked improvement in his side.
The visitors took the lead when a short corner gave Adam Goldthorpe the perfect angle to launch an in-swinging cross and Paul Smith converted.
Just before the half-hour Sedge keeper Kyle Sutcliffe was penalised as he grasped a cross and a forward tumbled over him. James Featherstone stepped forward to score from the resultant penalty.
Sedge were then caught by a classic counter-attack. James Nestor was one-on-one with the home keeper and he saved, quickly threw the ball out and a flowing move ended with Featherstone netting for a second time.
Railway increased their lead to 3-1 in the second half when Steve Davy measured a curling cross-cum-shot that left Sutcliffe floundering as it found the top corner.
Gareth Hamlet sparked the Sedge comeback when he fired home a loose ball as the home defence failed to clear and then seven minutes from time steered home the equaliser.
"We were poor but after being 3-1 down inside the last half-hour deserved at least a point," said Lacy.
