The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Arthur F Trigg paid tribute to the work of Rabbi Heilbron who will shortly be leaving Bradford. The congregation, which included many church and civic dignitaries, had earlier heard Rabbi Heilbron refer to the part played by the various immigrant groups in the life of the town.

A good display of chickens, boiling fowls and rabbits has replaced Christmas turkeys. Dealers interviewed today said they had none left on their hands after Christmas Eve and one was having difficulty in finding two birds which had been ordered for the new year. Chickens are 6s. a lb. (dressed weight), boiling fowls 4s. 6d. a lb. (dressed weight) and rabbits 1s. 8d. a lb.
