OTLEY'S community radio station could be heading back to the airwaves.
The organiser of Wharfedale FM, which last made a two week appearance in December last year, is hopeful that it will return in December this year.
Nigel Francis says he has been approached by a major sponsor and providing he can get a licence from the Radio Authority, Wharfedale FM will go back on air.
"I'm 99 per cent sure it will go ahead and all being well it will go ahead in December," he said.
The radio station, which broadcasts from the Wharfedale Newspapers offices in Orchard Gate, costs around £2,500 to put on for two weeks, including licences from the Radio Authority and the Performing Rights Society.
Mr Francis said he would be looking for people with an interest in presenting to run some of the shows.
"People don't need to have any experience, we have the equipment and can train them to use it."
