IN the Kirkby Malzeard 10k - a part of the annual Black Sheep Race Series Otley AC results were: Howard Jeffrey 39:10 (11th), Mick Jeffrey 41:28 (32nd), Phil Robinson 43:50 (56th - a good run after recent knee surgery) and Julian Mawson 43:50 (57th - warming up for the following day's Thirsk 10).
The Thirsk 10 saw Otley AC take the team prize with Ian Fisher, Julian Mawson, Neil Cayton and Malcolm Court all recording times under 62 mins.
The race itself took place on the flat countryside around James Herriott country on a hot but cloudy afternoon.

Entry forms are available, from sports shops, leisure centres, Otley Motors and Otley AC for the annual Otley Motors Ten Mile Road Race which will take place this year on Wednesday, June 30.
Otley AC are a friendly bunch of runners who cater for all ages and abilities.
They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Otley RUFC in Cross Green, Otley at 7.15pm.

Skyrac AC
Skyrac AC competed in the North of England League, Division Two East meeting at York. Middlesbrough AC won with 437 points with Skyrac sixth with 116.
Skyrac AC fared somewhat better in this second match at Huntington Stadium. The big points earners for the Guiseley club came mainly from the women with Laura Kirk and Nicky Jackson being dual and treble A string event winners respectively. Emma Smith also had a good day with two A string second places in the 100m and triple jump
For the men, Julian Gittens was an impressive A string winner of the triple jump with 12.74m.

Track and Field League
IN Round Four of the West Yorkshire Track and Field League at Wakefield local athletes who came in the first six in their event and thus gained league points were:
U-11 boys - Luke Murray (Skyrac) 2nd, 600m (1.59.4); Matthew Wagner (Leeds Carnegie) - 4th, 600m (2.06.0). U-11 girls - Hannah Middlebrough (Skyrac) 5th, 75m (12.0s.). U-13 girls - Grace Christopher (Leeds Carnegie) 5th, 80m (11.7s). U-15 girls - Danielle Carr (Leeds City) 5th, 200m (27.2s); Jodie Gregorczyk (Leeds City) 3rd 800m (2.27.1). Senior women - Hazel Barker (Leeds City) 3rd, Long Jump (4.15m).
Ilkley Harriers
ILKLEY Harriers had two teams in the Bradford Millenium Way Relay, the men finishing eighth and the ladies second.
On Saturday, Ros Blackburn completed the Swaledale Marathon in 5 hours 42mins, over 23miles with 3600 feet of ascent! Vince Gibbons completed his second marathon in eight days in the same time.
There was a good turnout of 34 Harriers for a testing mid-week 10k race at Otley on Wednesday, part of the Harrogate Road League. After that race, Ilkley remain in third place in the team competition, the ladies hold a strong lead, the lady vets had a good win on the night to close the gap on Dragons, and the male Vets team were a notable second - their consistency giving them second Vet team overall.

Ilkley fielded three teams in the Badger Stone Relays, the Ilkley Top Boys were third and the Ilkley ladies were first ladies team.
On Tuesday night, Morgan Williams, Alison Eagle, Pete Shields and Ashley Hardwell ran the Coledale Horseshoe from Braithwaite near Keswick on Tuesday evening (nine miles and 3000ft). Alison was third lady.
