TWO Ilkley swimmers made their mark in the second North Eastern Counties Bagcat Championships at Sheffield's Ponds Forge International Pool.
City of Bradford swimmers Sian Morgan and Carey Senczyszyn were among the club's swimmers who once again rose to the occasion.
The club now has a total of seven national qualifiers for the National Age and Youth Championships to be held later this summer at the same venue.
However, one of the highlights of the Meet as far as City's swimmers were concerned was the girls' 10 years 400 metres individual medley in which five swimmers were in the top ten placings.
Sian Morgan, Eleanor Belk, Hannah Robertshaw, Lily Preston and Hannah Midgley all put in impressive performances.
The only other Yorkshire swimmer in the top ten was from City of Sheffield the remainder of the finalists being from Northumberland and Durham. This bodes well for the next year's Yorkshire Championships in this event.
Ilkley's Carey Senczyszyn added the 400 metres individual medley to her list of national times and in doing so achieved a five second personal best time.
Sian Morgan, also of Ilkley, was a double bronze medal winner in the girls' 10 years 400 metres individual medley and 200 metres freestyle and also had fourth and fifth final placing in the 100 metres breaststroke and 200 metres butterfly.
In the first North Eastern Counties Bagcat Championships Sian Morgan was again on the rostrum in finishing second in the girls 10 years 100 metres butterfly and 200 metres individual medley and third in the 400 metres freestyle.
She also reached the final of the 200m backstroke, 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.
Having gained her National time in the 200m individual medley at the Sheffield No Frills Meet Carey Senczyszynadded the 100m freestyle to her tally in finishing fourth in the girls 13 years 100m freestyle. She also had three other final placings.
