Bradford Dudley Hill 39
Warrington Wizards 12
Bradford Dudley Hill's coach Graeme Hallas, who is 34 next Sunday, could yet prove a useful influence on the field.
He scored a try and landed a drop goal in the final ten minutes as the hosts finished much the stronger in their re-arranged Northern Rail Cup tie against Warrington Wizards.
But Hill's first-team manager Lee Collins admitted: "We don't now how often he will play - he could well choose his matches."
Two carbon-copy tries by winger Jack Bradbury set Hill on their way in the first quarter, only for the Wizards to reply in the 25th minute via the pacy Mark Roughneen, who added the goal.
Hill, however, liked the look of the right-hand side of Warrington's defence, and the hosts' man of the match, loose forward Vic Tordoff, finished off an attack there to make it 12-6 four minutes later.
Stand-off Anthony Huby sold an outrageous dummy to score their fourth try before half-time, but back came the visitors in the 49th minute, Warrington's Alan Kilshaw breaking the home line to make it 16-12.
Hill then embarked on an unanswered run of 23 points. Liam Jordan scored twice around the hour mark, Jason Lee finally landing a conversion to Jordan's second try.
Hallas then weighed in with his five points - a one-pointer in the 76th minute and a try two minutes later.
And the try spree was completed by new signing Paul Gledhill, Lee again improving.
Next up for Hill in the Northern Rail Cup are Hemel away next Saturday.
