Steve Schumacher has set himself a goal target - to out-score David Wetherall.
Schumacher aims to end a two-month drought at Blackpool tonight by netting his fourth of the season - and moving level with the skipper.
Dean Windass is well clear in City's scoring charts on 18 with centre half Wetherall a distant second top marksman alongside former loan striker Dele Adebola. Midfielder Schumacher thought he was back in the goals against Luton on Saturday but saw a late effort crash back off the inside of the post.
Schumacher, who last hit the target in the 1-1 draw with Wrexham, said: "The keeper was nowhere near it and I was already away celebrating. I was ready to go and was gutted to see it bounce back to their defender.
"I haven't scored since Boxing Day now and it's bugging me. I'm not getting carried away about it but I need a couple of goals before the end of the season to get myself back up there. I've just got to beat David Wetherall, who's on four, and I'll be happy. If I finish second behind Deano, then it will be all right.
"But I'll just keep getting in the box and hopefully something will bounce for me."
Schumacher's unlucky miss denied City a deserved point against the leaders. But Colin Todd is confident of an immediate pick-me-up at Bloomfield Road.
"The players know we should have got something but the response has been positive in training," he said. "Let's hope we can bounce back again. It's happened that often this season and we have to do it at Blackpool.
"We're still right in there and only two points off sixth but we cannot afford to slip back anymore. There's a full fixture list tonight and if we don't get anything, we'll be looking at a bigger gap."
Todd is waiting on Lewis Emanuel's fitness after the left back cried off sick yesterday. Dean Windass has also been feeling a back pain from the weekend's game.
With Paul Tierney still out, Wayne Jacobs could find himself back in the frame if Emanuel does not recover in time.
Jacobs has not featured since being told he could go at the end of the season.
Todd said: "Sometimes circumstances change when you are down to the bare bones. Wayne is still a member of the group of players, he hasn't moved on like Jason Gavin, so we'll look at the options."
